Schools without shelf exams

Hey folks, I'm sure there are schools like mine out there who don't administer shelf exams to their students.

My question is: how are you guys studying for the boards?

Frankly, half of our tests are a joke and the other half are tougher but not sure if they're helpful for the boards.

It's easy to get complacent and not study anything board-related while on rotations with great hours and no big exam to look forward to.

I used nothing but UW for just over 2 weeks and did pretty well. That should be more than sufficient. Secrets (or Crush, its larger, picture-laden clone) is a pretty good review text if you're a book fan.

My school also does not have shelf exams. I already took my Step 2s, and I used Step Up to Step 2, COMBANK, and Savarese. I took COMLEX only and studied for about 4 weeks, the last 2 weeks 10-12 hours per day. I wasn't a big fan of Crush or First Aid for Step 2, I thought Step Up wasn't too big and had more topics than the others. However, a question bank is definitely needed for Step 2. If you have time doing both COMBANK and COMQUEST is worth it.
