So I just took the MCAT last Thursday...walked out of the exam crying--Bio was outrageously difficult. I was so disappointed in myself because I've been doing well on all my practice exams (averaging around a 35)..but I feel like I'd be lucky to get a 30 on my actual MCAT.

I've heard that AAMC8,9,10 are most indicative of your real score. I felt really good after 9 and 10 and got 36, 35 on them. But I only got a 31 on AAMC 8.

For anyone who's taken the real MCAT and these practice tests, how much did your score agree with the practice scores? And how did you feel after leaving the real thing?

I never took AAMC 8, but I scored 3 points higher on real thing than I did on AAMC 9. My MCAT felt like it was a good deal more difficult than any of my practice exams, and I was expecting to score ~2 points below my practice average. I ended up scoring 2.7 points higher than my average.

Was it luck? Did the extra pressure help me? Who knows, but don't get discouraged by how you feel after taking the test. We are horrible judges of how well we performed.

Well I scored a little above my averages but my averages were in the unpredictable range. I think you'll do okay. Most people get within their AAMC average (~70%). I can't really say if I felt terrible coming out or not because I sort of expected it to be hard and expected to get destroyed. But agreed, test feelings don't mean crap.

Hope this helps,

All these posts make me feel better! I have ranged only 3 points on practice tests, so I hope that my score stay within that range or it is higher! Thanks guys!
