NBME 12 (day one): 191
NBME 3 (after 1 week): 209
UWSA 1 (after 2 weeks): 221
NBME 5 (after 3 weeks): 236
NBME 1 (after 3 weeks and 3 days): 213 (Ouch!)

I actually feel like I forgot a bunch of stuff in-between NBME 5 and 1 as well. I finished UWorld and did DIT/Kaplan Videos. 4 weeks before my exam and I am hoping for a 240. I am going to go through an NBME every 3 days so I can get through all of them before my test but I am a little discouraged because I heard the recent nbme's are harder.

I tried doing a couple of UWorld problems again (~400) and I get ~80-90% of them correct so I think it would be a waste doing it again. I tried doing USMLERx Flash Facts which I think are awesome but I am getting killed in trying to recall every single line in first aid.

Advice appreciated.

?? do you have 4 more weeks left? or did you have only 4 weeks to study & you've used up 3weeks & 3 days? I don't really understand what you're trying to ask. Because the advice you'll get for 4 more weeks of studying is different than advice you'll get for 4 more days of studying....

Also it sounds like you finished uworld already?

If you still have 4 weeks left you need to do more questions. If you've already done Uworld you can purchase another qbank (i liked kaplan) & go through that. OR you can go through all of uworld again. on your 2nd pass through uworld its not about the % you get right, but rather you should try to get a good understanding of the clinical presentation in each question (i.e., what exactly caused each symptom & why it all fits) & why every other answer is wrong/what disease every other answer represents. take your time to learn/move through it slowly & your score should continue going up in 4 weeks....

whatever topic(s) owned you on the last practice test, I would suggest setting uworld to just pull Qs from that area

I have 4 more weeks left and yes I have finished UWorld once.

When I go through UWorld the second time around I feel like I understand what is going on, why the other answer choices are incorrect, and why the answer is such; but the question on the old NBME are very different. I get 90% of the questions that I believe were covered in UWorld, maybe 80% covered in FA, but I just get owned on questions that are covered in books in bates (e.g. the most common type of leukoplekia is due to tobacco smoking), step 2 material (e.g. best plan of treatment for BCC is what), and facts we learn during school (e.g. cross section of a embryo and locate the somite) which I believe add up.

I don't think I mastered FA, but I have a good sense of it. I don't have any major weakness and it is frustrating getting lower scores on my NBME and I am at a point that I don't know how I should study because I am obviously not studying properly.

I will try giving UWorld another chance this week, but how should I be studying First Aid? Read a section at a time? Page by page (front-to-back, or jump-around)? or constantly quiz myself with First Aid flashcards that test me on every word of firstaid (flashfacts)?
