hey,
What are some of the average board scores to get into Rad residency? What scoress would garuntee you a spot in Rad?
As its becoming more and more competitive is there anything one can do to improve their chance?
Does a technical education help, like an engineering background?
Thanks.

I heard that some programs have a step 1 cutoff of 230? Do they even look at the two digit score? Is there anyone that matches with a score below 230 (excluding those that are heavily connected, or whose dad is the chairman)...

There is no 'official' minimum score. And there is no score that 'guarantees' your acceptance. Score as high as you can. Above 230-240 will give you a decent shot of getting in SOMEWHERE as long as your grades are commensurate and you don't come across as a total tool in your interviews.

Supposedly UCSF, a top program, has a cutoff of 240.

I would expect most programs to have cutoffs lower than this.

I dont know about cutoffs, we have been told that "no program has cutoff scores." But, this cant be true... you cant fault them though, how are they supposed to dig through massive piles of applications without using criteria like scores, AOA and grades. I have heard average accepted scores of in the low 240s.
