U can do it. It just takes a while. Try to prepare for Pcat now. At least next year, you can be more confident when taking the pcat.
does it say 3% next to your Composite score? if it does, my guess is that perhaphs your answers did not line up with the answer sheet...(?)
first thank you for ya all replies, so do u think i made a mistake on recording my answers or they made a mistake somewhere along?
Did you read his response above? 5 minutes left and not even half done. That's why he did so poorly, he either left half the answers blank or guessed on them.
Again, read the 90% thread, and you're one of the few people I'd probably recommend to take the Kaplan course. Its expensive, but it sounds like you need it.

Making a mistake on recording the answers on ALL sections? To be blunt, I don't anyone other then an idiot would make a mistake like that. I think you may misunderestimated the PCAT. How did you feel after you took the test? Did you feel like did much better? Also, how and what sources of material did you use to prepare? A month of studying should be enough...
I love how you are questioning the OP's intelligence and you use the word "misunderestimated" in the same post.
A US president once used that word in a speech...

First of all, have you taken the prerequisite coursework? If you haven't taken certain classes, the PCAT will be much much tougher. Add the fact that it doesn't seem like you practiced how to take the test (and were completely unprepared in terms of gauging the timing of the exam), it is entirely possible your score is legitimate. Harcourt doesn't usually make mistakes like that. I would definitely suggest not only reevaluating your readiness for the test, but the mentality with which you approach the entire exam, preparation process, and application process. I guarantee you, if you do your application like the way you performed on the exam, it will not be a happy application cycle for you. You are supposed to be a professional. Blaming the test, test conditions, or your unreadiness is no excuse. If you want to join the profession of pharmacy, kindly act like one, because otherwise you're in for a rude awakening if/when you get to the interview.
Personally, I don't even think it was just a mistake of recording answers. I think you need to evaluate how prepared you are prior to taking an exam. In addition, if you already knew that you had trouble with timing or knew that you had trouble with the exam questions, you should have cancelled the score instead of getting it scored. You may have to explain in the future to adcoms why you received a 3%. It's not so easy to do without making yourself look irresponsible in the process.
thanks guys for all your comments and advices, but just to let you that i will make a best pharmacist ever. a pcat score wont determine my intellegence. and one thing that i proud of myself is that i am a very confident person. i know some people who scored high on the pcat and have a good GPA but have no confidence on themselves. one thing that makes me unique is that i never lose my confidence because i know my staff. when it comes for interview i know i will make a good interview ever because i have a smart answer for every question that i am asked. i am as smart as(if not better) the person who scrored 99% .i work as a pharmacy technician and everyboy knows that i will make a good pharmacist , but i just dont understand how in the world i scored this, but anyway i am preparing for the Jan's Pcat.guys , is the Kaplan book a good book to prepare for the pcat. any of your comments are needed! thanks!
by the way i took most of my preqs classes.

Do note that you'll set a red flag at Harcourt you've improved your PCAT score by over 50 points over a 13-month period. Since you would have above a 53 for a competitive PCAT score, you probably should start thinking about how you will appeal the revocation of a better PCAT score.

PCAT Candidate Information Booklet said:Cancellation of Scores Due to Questionable Score Gain
If an examinees scores seem questionable when compared to PCAT scores obtained by the examinee during the previous 13-month period, the scores may be canceled. When scores are canceled for this reason, no scores will be reported to the examinee or to any score recipient schools. Harcourt Assessment follows a strict policy in determining when a score gain is questionable and thus invalid. The following explanation of this policy refers to scaled score points, which are reported on the personal Score Report and the Official Transcripts.
If the Composite scaled score and percentile rank on the most recent test are 50 or more points greater than the previous test Composite scores, an invalidation of the most recent test scores, including the Writing scores, automatically occurs due to the large score gain.
The examinee is notified that his or her scores have been invalidated and that the scores will never be reported to anyone. If the examinee feels that the score gain of 50 or more Composite scaled score and percentile rank points was achieved through legitimate effort, the examinee must
contact PSE Customer Relations immediately upon receiving the invalidation
notification to appeal the invalidation. Within 60 days of the last PCAT test date, the examinee must then submit (via mail or fax) documentation as evidence to support the legitimacy of the score gain. The documentation will be reviewed, and the examinee will be notified regarding the outcome of the appeal within 30 days of the time the appeal is received by Harcourt Assessment. If the appeal is accepted, Harcourt Assessment will release the Score Gain Test scores. If the appeal is denied, the examinee may be allowed to retake the PCAT after paying the appropriate fees.
Maybe you should try reading that Candidate Information Booklet. 😉 I agree it seems like a stupid rule, but someone probably cheated and they thought it was necessary.
Probably...🙂
To everybody, going up 50 percentiles is not the same thing as going up 50 points/percent on an exam where the student blindly took it the first time. Standardized exams claim to test "acquired knowledge" more, making such a leap questionable. Of course, there are always mitigating reasons why a score gain can be that high hence the appeal process.
Really? I've never heard of this before. I don't need to worry about this, but I'm very curious how many points improvement is enough to be flagged, and what that whole process is.
Don'tGiveUp - I'm glad that you are full of confidence. However, don't get cocky - pharmacists not only need confidence, they need the skills to back it up! You've made many mistakes in your posts - I think it would be great practice for the verbal/reading/writing sections to practice perfect grammar and spelling whenever possible. Is English your first language?
hey, i have whatever it takes to be a pharmacist. when you know your staff very well thats when you be come a cofident person, am i not right? so i have whatever skill takes to be a pharmacist. thank you for comment anyway
frankly, i wouldn't trust you to be my pharmacist...
your posts are full of errors
if you were typing away in the comp to check for patient history and check what other drugs they were taking and mistyped, this could lead to severe consequences
and here is your corrected post:
hey, i have what it takes to be a pharmacist. when you know your stuff very well, you become confident , am i right? i have every skill it takes to be a pharmacist.
much better flow. you used a lot of useless words
if i were you, i'd practice the interview part if you speak as well as you write
furthermore, do not get cocky, many others have a higher pcat score and are just as confident in themselves
frankly, i wouldn't trust you to be my pharmacist...

lmao...strategery 😀
Sorry...off topic, but...since the word strategery got thrown out there:
"Lock box"
What ever happened to SNL?
thank you for your comments!
i can imagin what kind of pharmacist you are going to be.i know you jus got accepted after so many trials, if you make through the pharmacy school im sure you gonna come out the worst pharmacist ever, you have no sympathy for people. like i said before a pcat score wont determind if i am going to be a pharmacist or not. i didnt even have to post it here because i know why i scored low, i didnt have time to finish it das all. i actually couldnt believe that i wasted my time type this crap!

is your "e" button or other buttons on your keyboard broken?
i don't know about you, but i'd rather have a pharmacist thats impersonal but good rather than a loving pharmacist that kills me![]()
I'm sorry but I'm just wondering if your shift and apostrophe keys are broken too.

i admire ur determination its awesome but u need to be realistic. hows ur GPA?? is it good 3.0- 4.0? if it is then u can take a class and prepare for the pcat, if its not then have u learned from ur mistakes and r u actually improving now that u learned from ur mistake. i mean not everyone can be a heart surgeon or brain surgeon, or a pharmacist or a dentist. just bc u cant be one of that dosnt make u less of a person bc alot of rich ppl are unhappy and lead lives where they divorce and all crap. just do something that u can DO thats withing ur capacity and ignore these as*** here who talk about grammar rather than addressing a problem.
