Hello everyone,

I was just wondering if MD/PhD programs screen secondaries if their regular MD program also screens secondaries. Or do MD/PhD programs usually just give secondaries to everyone, considering the smaller applicant pool?

For example, Vanderbilt's MD program screens for secondaries, and only sends secondaries to some applicants. Does that mean that their MD/PhD program also screens prior to sending out secondaries, or no?

Thanks for the info. I know this is a really simple question but I can't seem to find it on SDN- all of the search results that come up deal with MD-only applications.

I know that UCSF and Vandy screen before sending out secondaries, but those are the only two that I can think of off the top of my head. Can anyone think of any others?

The only school I know of that screens for secondaries for MD but not MD/PhD is UCLA. I believe UW still screens for MD/PHD, but the requirements are different (in particular, state residency is not taken into consideration).
