Ok so don't flame me for this but I was just watching a few episodes on comedy central and I had some questions. J.D. is in internal medicine residency right? What do you call the part of the hospital he rounds in? it's not the ER, not the ICU, it's the...?

I know i know dumb question. But thought I'd ask it anyway.

Medicine (short for Internal Medicine)

Internal Medicine is the specialty or department that he is a resident in. The part he rounds in is called the Medicine "floor" or "ward."

its the internal medicine ward, or IM floor(s)

he's also seen in the ICU about half the time. the ICU being the place where they gather for morning rounds w/ kelso.

Ah ok, Thanks guys. Only seen about two shows so I was just curious. It's a great show!

This is how it starts-pretty soon you'll have all five seasons on DVD or saved on your laptop and you'll be dreaming about Janitor, Carla, and "Turkleton"

I read in this morning's paper that NBC is cancelling it's Thursday night scripted comedies (must see TV) for cheaper game shows and reality TV. While they didn't name Scrubs specifically, it is one of these "scripted comedies." If it weren't for Scrubs, Earl, and the Office, I don't think I would watch TV.

Word. And America's Next Top Model. 😳

OP, it is so cute that you asked that question. I'm glad you got nonvolatile resonses.

Sometimes the great shows die too early. I realize that Scrubs has been on for a while, but it still feels early for the show. I hope they haven't killed it completely.

i heard someone say zach braff is leaving scrubs (which ofcourse would kill the entire show).. is this just a rumor?

I think I saw that on TV for one of his interviews. Yes, the sixth season is the last season for Dr. John Dorian 🙁

I would almost consider it a sickness, but yes, i know exactly what you are talking about.

there's not much else they can do with the premise... he's the newbie, Dr. Cox gives him ****, starry eyed optimism... etc.
The show is great... and so is The Office, although that's close to jumping the shark, too

When you say "The Office," you mean the British version, right? I find the US version unwatchable.

the show is startin to lead to an end tho u can tell.. jd elliot and turk are way less noobish than they used to be... only thing i can see them doin is bringing in another set of interns and starting the show all over while keeping a couple of the old guys (kinda like how they kept screech on the new and extremely crappy saved by the bell)

Scrubs is supposed to come back this year as a mid-season replacement---similar to last year. Also, as another poster mentioned, the sixth season will be the last for Zach Braff. Bill Lawrence, the creator of Scrubs, has not said whether he'll keep the show going or not.

While dramas often survive loss of major characters (eg. ER, Law and Order) comedies less frequently do. And even those that do tend to be mediocre versions of the prior seasons. I think the end is near for scrubs. But its reruns will run for many years in syndication.

I remember seeing Zach Braff briefly on either Good Morning America or The Today Show, which ever one has Anne Curry on it (she was the one interviewing him), recently promoting his movie, "The Last Kiss," and he said that those were just rumors. He's not planning on quitting the show. Whether Bill Lawrence decides to take it past the 6th season, nobody really knows. On a side note, Judy Reyes, aka Carla Espinoza, hurt her pelvis in an accident recently.

This show, among MANY other reasons was why I chose to abandon my childhood dreams of becoming a dentist to pursue a career in medicine. Thank you "Dr. Cox" 😀

It'd be sad if it were finished but it did have a good run. I think it is an excellent show that really grows on you once you watch it.......and has a nice balance of comedy with a few serious moments thrown in. Oh well...guess i'll jus download them and watch them on my computer if it ever does fade away.

I just bought season four on DVD, and I've fallen in love with Heather Graham all over again. 😍

And Dr. Cox, of course, rules all. Dr. Cox > Chuck Norris. His character is from Pittsburgh, too. 😀

You are one of only a hanful of people i have ever met who knows about the British version. Whenever i say "The Office," i always get praise and glory for Steve Carrell, but nothing for Ricky Gervais. I haven't watched them in so long...perhaps i'll go purchase season 1 and 2 today.

I actually do own both seasons already and did before the US version came out... this show had quite a bit of buzz about it and was on BBC America 5-6 years ago. Ricky Gervais is brilliant though, have you seen his show "Extras" on HBO ? It might be even better than the Office.

The first couple episodes of the American Office were unwatchable, and just looked like poor imitations of the original... but once the show got it's own flavor I think it works great... it worked out so well actually that the French and Germans have their own versions coming out this season

I've just finished watching it for the second time and I have to agree with you about Heather Graham. I never thought she was that good of an actress until I saw this 4th season. She plays that character perfectly. I wish they'd kept her character.

the thing about british comedy..i know the jokes are funny but for some reason if i watch it for more than five minutes i'm intensely bored. and dwight is a lot better than his british counterpart.

Dwight cracks me up. He's such an idiot. I love how he tries to cut the "to the" out of his title all the time, but keeps getting corrected.

Yeah. It's all over guys. I'm completely hooked. Scrubs is the greatest show ever and I know exactly wehre my next paycheck is going...all the seasons on DVD. It's the only show that actually calms me down throughout this incredibly nerve-racking application process.

You've apparently never seen Boogie Nights.😀

meeeh....I'm not all that excited to see Burt Reynolds in a banana hammock.

And dear god in heaven, if I have to see The Todd in a banana hammock again I might just end it all right here. No offense to The Karate Kid, it's just that being down here we tend to be over-exposed to the banana hammock in general. *shudder* *shudder*

agreed...
Heather Graham's character is awesome. it's great to see good psychiatrists on tv (even if it's completely not serious).
