WHY MAKE 150K WHEN 450K IS OUT THERE?

Moderators (whatever that means )

IT IS MY RIGHT TO MY OPINION.

Your censorship of my (very popular) thread

WHY MAKE 150K WHEN 450K IS OUT THERE?

geez.....I dunno...that may be

UNCONSTITUTIONAL....

but I won't go there

YET.

I just wanna hear ONE of you NAIVE moderators (not Arch)

ADMIT

you've

OVERSTEPPED

your boundaries.

That

IT's OK

for me to have an opinion about students laden with student loan debt

and how their

SPECIALTY CHOICE

matters.

I couldn't imagine going to med sch, wasting all that time, learning **** that nurses can learn online in 6 months. Then graduating owing $150,000. Then going into a residency that will guarantee me $90,000/ yr. Then getting out and working 7am-7pm just to make more than $90k with only 2 weeks vacation. But only vacationing at Holly Beach (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holly_Beach,_Louisiana#References) cause you can't do south beach.

The days of making $450k are just about over.

Just as clarification, it's very very rare for a full time FM attending to only make $90K with only 2 weeks vacation. $140K is average for your first year out as an attending, with 3-4 weeks vacation - and that's 8-5, outpatient only, no OB, no weekends, minimal call. If you're working 7A-7P with only 2 weeks vacation, you should expect to be getting paid over $200K.

FM doesn't get paid as well as anesthesia, but it's not THAT bad either.

My FP doc clears $200K and works 40 hours a week.
