For those of you who have taken the DAT, im certain at least a few of you have tried hitting Ctrl+F to see if on the off chance there is a search function (which would be very helpful on the Reading Comp section)

I am guessing that there is no such functionality on the computers used to administer the DAT?

lol....it won't work. i tried when i took it last year. the place where i took it at, they can hear every little click of your mouse and keyboard while in use.

one other question about it.... can you use the mouse and highlight parts of the text as you're reading? i find that this helps me on my practice tests

btw, i dont mean highlight it permanently, just in the same was as highlighting any text on a web page would behave

I took the test today and I tried this!!!!!!!!!

I know all about Ctrl-F.........I use it a lot on the internet!!

But NO...it doesn't work for the DAt...trust me...

MAYBE at some test centers it would work....but not at mine (CT).........

I tried doing Ctrl-F and I was pissed (but at the same time not surprised) that it didn't work..I mean honestly...The world revolves around computers nowadays...don't you think finding information within a passage shouldn't be a problem. Unfortunately..the DAT is still traditional...you have 2 options: (1) read the passage and answer the questions (recommended for advanced readers) and (2) Skim the passage and go STRAIGHT for the questions - - refer back to the passage as necessary

I did #2.....you can't go wrong. Passages are short and questions are easy. But yeah...I like you're inquiry about the Ctrl-F thing....but sorry mate....it won't work. The testing center is not THAT smart...but they do know how to disable CTRL-F.

Peace.
