Hey guys I know i asked this before but I really need some advice. My undergraduate gpa as well as science gpa is low. Should I just go for a second bachelors? (ill obviously look into a masters as well) Who did this and got a high gpa afterwards and got accepted into a pharmacy school?😕

How low is it that you think a second degree is needed to make up for it?

If I were in your shoes I would retake the sciences classes at a junior college. I would not bother with a 2nd degree.

If you retake the classes and perform well it will show a mastery of the subject matter. Otherwise a bunch of Cs/Ds/Fs in bio and chem will not look good.

I would definitely NOT pursue a masters if all you want to do is pharmacy... Too time consuming and expensive.

How bad is your GPA?

Have you taken the PCAT?

No, not yet =/

so overall its 2.7, science its a 2.5 right now

I had identical stats as you.. Do good on pcat and your all set.. I got into all my top choices. Key is Dr Collins and doing good on pcat

IMO, it depends on what you studied for your first degree. If you majored in Biology or Chemistry, getting a second degree will not provide you much help since you have likely taken all of the pre-req courses previously. In that case, pursuing a Masters would be more beneficial.

Another thing to mull over is the fact that, if you already have a Bachelors degree, you won't be able to receive financial aid. If receiving financial aid will be necessary for you to obtain a second Bachelors degree, you should either retake courses as per necessary or pursue a Masters degree.
