I am over the credit limit for next semester (inflated by a winterim class and research for credit) so I have to get rid of one class. I think it might be semester 2 algebra-based physics.

Will this screw me over for a September MCAT? I am good at physics and self-study in general.

Physics can be self-studied. Most college physics classes teach beyond the level of the MCAT. If you have good physical intuition, then it's a matter of doing problems and learning through application. I don't recommend it, but I've seen many student do well on the CP section without completing their physics.
