And I got the "screened" secondary from University of Miami today as well

I was verified the 19th i think
Miami sounded like they only screened GPA
Miami's secondary is long! Lots of additional info they want plus a few essays. Not sure why I applied there considering im out of state

They're listed elsewhere, but now that we have this handy dandy all encompassing secondary thread, they got lost in the shuffle. Anyway, the questions are:
1) In your own words, define altruism and provide an example or two where you exhibited altruistic behavior in your past activities. (600 words or less)
2) In the space provided, describe your motivation for a career in medicine and experiences you have had that helped confirm this desire. (600 words or less)

I just received the e-mail too! My first secondary invite! YES!!!

Of course, this was only based on a notification they had received from AMCAS that I intend to apply...but I'll take it!

I hate to admit this since it's my situation. Even though I think they're being asses for asking for this info and shouldn't even be allowed to ask it I'll probably be a typical med hopeful and give them whatever info they want.

I just said: I applied to all the Chicago medical schools and a variety of out of state private medical schools. That is such a prick question.
 
It would be very useful if people also can post the essay questions with the schools for those of us who have not gotten the secondaries yet. Thanks!

link? 😕 when I go to the secondary page, it still says 2006. It seems like they're getting ready to change it though since the admissions page now has class of 2007 on it.

Also: You guys know there is an official thread with '07 secondary topics. It is stickied and also in my 07 FAQ. Let's try to make that list more complete. 👍

I was going to apply EDP to a school out in Chicago and this is what they told me about secondaries; that once your amcas is submitted, call the admissions team and tell them that you are EDP, they usually get the secondary out to you right away. Im not sure if you called or not, but if you havent you might want to tomorrow morning. Good luck!

If I click on the link you provided, it goes to the "supplementary application for fall entry, 2006" page. And reading through the page, all the due dates and such are 2005/2006. So...yeah. Can someone else click on the link (bottom of page 5 in a post by omahaguy21) and post what they see? Hopefully I'm not a complete idiot. 😕
 
I just got the secondary invitation from Michigan!! 😀 Add it to the list!

It shows up for 2007 for me. Try refreshing your browser when you get to that page.
 
Are there any schools that send out secondary notifications through regular mail? Or do they contact us through email only?

they mentioned "GPA requirements" and meeting a cutoff MCAT score (24 in-state, 30 out).
 
I was thinking of applying to SUNY Downstate and the two New Jersey schools.

Does anyone know if they take any out-of-staters? My sister graduated from
SUNY Downstate, does that have any impact on my application.

UM = Univ of Miami?; I have a 29Q OOS. Did they say don't even bother applying with < 30?

Yes, they do take out of state applicants. Just make sure you indciate why you want to go there. The fact that your sister went to Downstate could help you there because you can inclue it in your essay describing" why downstate" and "why NY". Just try and show you have some knowledge of the state or connection to it and a willingness to live there for four or more years.
 
USUHS just sent out the email that invites you to complete the secondary. It is already posted on their website

We need to start putting in full names to not get this confusing.

That said, I'm assuming it's Washington since the email from Wisconsin on the 22nd said that they are reviewing the AMCAS and it will be a few weeks before we hear from them.
