Am I missing something on the Wash U secondary? the optional essay is about being disadvantaged, and the other essay is your relation to the WashU med school, not even WashU in general. Are there basically no essays? Anyone? 😕

I would caution you about with holding that information, especially if you're a reapplicant to AECOM. If they find out, they have grounds to dismiss you for not telling the whole truth. On the other hand, if they don't find out, so be it. I'm not sure if or to what extent medical schools talk to each other. Just hope they don't.

They don't, but they send you a password to logon to the secondary.

Yeah, I thought that was weird too. Unless you were disadvantaged or have a connection to WashU, I guess there are no essays.

Yes. I was verified last Friday the 23rd and I got the e-mail from them the same day. They said they screen for at least a 7 on VR, 7 on PS, 8 on BS, and 2.8 GPA. I know those stats aren't extremely hard to get by, but just thought I'd throw that in there.

Well I'm not a reapplicant to AECOM. I'm just wondering how'd they'd react to anybody telling them "Yes I applied last year, I applied to X schools and I did not get in. This is as far as I'm willing to discuss the situation."

that's really stupid how some schools have their applications available online without sending any notices. there should be a universal system in which to fill out all secondaries. either a.) send them only by email or b.) only post them on the website. it is lame that you have to check 10,000 websites to see if they are gonna post it on the website or email it to you.

Basically no essays. It was nice once you get the crazy information about your ACT/SAT, and high school GPA and class rank.

Been approved to fill out Miami secondary today via email. Haven't looked through it yet though.

It is under the EMAIL category, and as such was sent out to people. I am not applying to Georgetown.

Please submit a one-page essay, single-spaced, one side only, on an 8.5" x 11" sheet on "why have you chosen to apply to Georgetown University School of Medicine, and how do you think your education at Georgetown will prepare you to become a physician for the future?

I applied there too - so far I've gotten 2ndary or acknowledgment emails from GW, Georgetown and Baylor. All of which are sending out secondaries right now.

How long does it usually take for screened secondaries?

I have no idea, but I'd like to know the answer as well. I know last year people started get the Loyola secondary ~3 weeks after they were verified and Loyola screens (sort of...I think you have to have >25 MCAT). That's all I've got! Hopefully someone can help us out. 🙂
