My jaw dropped and I let out a wtf when I saw "life of discovery". They make it sound like it's some sort of technical term. Im sorry, but it sounds horrendously fruity.

I wouldn't consider it a secondary because they still have to review residents first before looking at OOS applicants. I'm not sure but I think applicants will get a secondary only if they are invited for an interview. In any case, I talked to MSU admission office and they said it will take awhile for them to review applications, especially residents.

But these type of questions are the money questions that can make you stand out. The "what would you bring to this school" questions and "what makes you diverse" questions don't do it for me.

I think it might have been the same essay last year. Maybe not, but it was also something really strange, but I think it was teh same. But I guess I can't reuse the same essay I did last year. Sucks, cause it was pretty good, I thought.

Thanks, I was really surprised actually. My AMCAS was verified around 7/17 I think, if that's any help to you. I'm an OOS, and I took the MCAT 3x, but I have no clue how they view multiple scores. Although I think my GPA is above what they had listed as an average.

Does anyone know about how many people they interview out of those they invite for a secondary?

I'm not sure, but they rejected me about a week after getting my primary, so maybe they really hated me or they either reject/invite for secondary within a week or 2.

I went to Berkeley, have good stats, was verified on the June 29, got UCI, UCD and UCSD and am in state, there really breaking my balls

Berkeley grad, in state. Telling you my stats wont make a damn difference in the world whether or not you will get a secondary. So I will keep them to myself. I would consider myself an avg applicant.

I have received every UC secondary. If you ask me why I couldn't tell you. There is nothing that stands out in my mind about my application; EC's, grades, MCAT, etc
Be patient.

spospo, I received wayne state secondary as well. But I am also in state and live about 20-30 minutes away from the school. It was mailed out on 27th for me. So if you are out of state, it might take a little longer.

Thanks, sorry for delay, but here is what it asks [essay may have been a misnomer on my part]:

"Please describe in detail your most recent research project."

"Please describe briefly your reasons for applying to MSTP."

And they mean brief; you have a pretty small box.

You're also asked to identify what research you did [dates etc.] and any honors/publications you got.

Well they took a while to get me on file too...I was verified 6/16 and got their notice on 7/26. I think it goes in waves.
