The AECOM application is already available on their website but I haven't received a notification about their secondary. Is it alright to send it in, without receiving notification?
narc said:Berkeley grad, in state. Telling you my stats wont make a damn difference in the world whether or not you will get a secondary. So I will keep them to myself. I would consider myself an avg applicant.
I have received every UC secondary. If you ask me why I couldn't tell you. There is nothing that stands out in my mind about my application; EC's, grades, MCAT, etc
Be patient.

narc said:Thank you sir. I am confident UCSF looks at the whole person when deciding who gets the secondary and who doesn't.
I know people who have had great stats only to be rejected pre-sec from UCSF.
I can't honestly tell you why they picked me to get a secondary. 😕

What's the deal with the Rosalind Franklin Essay? Are we going to become doctors or philosophers? Maybe I'm just becoming disgruntled through this secondary process. Another thing... do they really want us to write it all out?Johnny_one_eye said:As I posted in the other thread, for those of you looking into the Rosalind Franklin University (CMS) the following link may be helpful to you:

thank god for google 🙂

Here are my feelings:
They want to know about life in discovery. I think being involved in discovery allows us to develop new technology, like te internet, for example. Okay, so the internet (made possible through computers) is an amazing tool that we shoudl use. WHY ARE WE SUBMITTING HAND WRITTEN PHILOSOPHY QUESTIONS/APPLICATIONS VIA SNAIL MAIL????
Johnny_one_eye said:Well if you look closely, that site I linked to is a Rosalind Franklin site. So it's not telling you to write that site. I posted it so you could get a better idea of what they meant by 'Life in Discovery'. They mean what they talk about on that site (the University's mission statement). So in your essay, you should probably refer to some/all of the 'four pillars' they talk about on the site: Education, Clinical Practice, Research and Community Service
Damn it you better not take my interview spot! 😛Robizzle said:u just totally saved my ass i was writing about discovering my inner self n crap like that lol

Does anyone know about how many people they interview out of those they invite for a secondary?
braluk said:the question is:
At Rosalind Franklin University, we celebrate and support a Life in Discovery. Briefly describe what a
Life in Discovery means to you.
Ill post it in that thread also.
On a side note, VCU has received my preliminary. How long does it take for them to upstate your status? Anyone know?
g3pro said:Everyone else at UCSF: does your status say that they did not receive your AMCAS?
*blink blink* people.brandeis.edu...? My my my another Brandeisian. Best of luck to you. I graduated in 2004. Best of luck to you and thanks for reformatting the PDF. Its a major time saver and I don't have to search for a typewriter.braluk said:haha thanks. dont praise me yet, im still getting some messages from a person here and there about small errors about the essay field, and how the characters (towards the middle of the essay field) will be cut off by the lines that the school provided. Ill have a couple of other various running versions by tonight. let me know if there are any other pdfs where major pdf work needs to be done and ill see what i can do.

Yeah, Rob, its been a "scorcha" (my makeshift Boston accent). I'm working by the state house. I'm sort of hoping the electricity goes out so I can go home and sweat over my apps. Fun huh.Robizzle said:how bout that heat wave hema? only 101 feels like 110 today. not bad at all!

Essay questions are:laurenem said:anyone know anything about uvm? I'm eager to get that one done. I can log into the applicant center, but the message there hasn't changed in weeks... "we'll be sending you instructions to our secondary in a few weeks" people who have recieved it, is there any way I can find it online? if not, what are the essays?
How's the nail polish? I've avoided that by doing them online instead of the green, yellow, and purple applications. With the sweltering heat, the nail polish will make me nauseus. lol.laurenem said:anyone know anything about uvm? I'm eager to get that one done. ive actually never met anyone who used the nail polish thing (am i correct in that premeds use it as "white out" or whatever)HemaOncoDoc said:How's the nail polish? UVM is being sent slowly. I received mine a couple of days ago. They ask the standard questions, a thorough section on your coursework, and an an openended "optional" essay asking about what else you want the adcoms to know about you.
Get away from the fumes!
lol, its been a running joke between lauren and I. We talked about how some of the paper applications were different colors and we couldn't use white out. Instead, we would go to CVS with the application and match colors.braluk said:ive actually never met anyone who used the nail polish thing (am i correct in that premeds use it as "white out" or whatever)
HemaOncoDoc said:And I think people have actually taken that suggestion. Premeds 🙂
braluk said:Ok i got one, more like trivia, but....
on the school im thinking about...
On the front page, in big blue letters are..
"Resource for Life"
Ill even release another clue,
this school was under investigation for misappropriation of funding.
lol. What have we resorted to? If you're bored braluk, you can do my applications for me. 🙂Robizzle said:Woo Umdnj!!!! 😀 ! What do i win???
