Secondary Essay

For some secondary essays (specifically for University of Wash, but I imagine others) it asks to write an autobiographical statement and has a 250 word limit. But then at the end it says that the personal comment section of AMCAS can be used to satisfy this requirement...

Since my personal statement is longer than 250 words, will I have to revise it? Or will there just be an indication for them to take the personal statement as a whole?

I think it'd be best to write a whole new one. A statement written specifically to meet the character limit will probably sound better than a longer one abridged to fit it.
