Secondary Timing With Preview and CASPER

I will be taking my Preview and Casper this week, and I realized that it takes about a month for those to be scored.

Given this, I understand that my application won’t be marked complete and won’t be reviewed by schools until I get my Casper and Preview scores in, right? So in my case, what is the point of submitting secondaries early (like early July) when they won’t even look at them until I get my scores back? Should I just wait until those are scored before I submit secondaries?

I feel like I am misunderstanding this.

Pacing yourself and staying on schedule are important. The point is that each school may impose a deadline on submitting secondaries regardless of your SJT status. Fill your essays out within the 1-2 week deadline. Many schools' portals can lock you out if you don't submit your secondaries by their deadlines.

This is why in our SJT Experience Survey, many people take their SJTs in May or June. I cannot confirm (on behalf of all relevant programs) that the file review will begin when you complete your essays, but they will check if SJT scores (or Kira Talent results) have been received. Some schools will begin their review once you submit your secondaries, and many may not require SJT results except as a tiebreaker for an interview or offer.
