Seeking Advise

Hi,

I am planning on retaking the DAT again and studying for a month, including the weekends, between 6-10 hrs a day. I am going to start when the school is out and take it before we go back.
I got a 20 TS, 19 PAT and a lower AA due to Piano and QR ( but I still blame the piano for it).
I have all the study supplies from destroyers to ACS and CDP,M, topscore and more, but definitely not enough time to go over them all.

I prefer not to take it during school time, because I will be taking 16 semester units including 2 units of research and I will not study as hard for it, a week into school is doable.

--Should I even bother and take it now or wait til summer like everyone else?

--Is a month enough to retake? if not how much longer and how far into school year? if yes, should i register now or should i wait til i am closer?


--Any study tips to refresh my memory quickly? should I go over all my practice, book supplies (which might take more than a month)?

I will have completed my biochem, interm. cell bio, and ochem II lab after this semester.

with a 20 TS, it doesn't look like you have much of a problem with the sciences. It really looks like you're just trying to improve your RC for the most part. If that is the case, a month is fine review over sciences and prepare for RC sections. What exactly is your main intent of retaking the DATs? Obviously score higher but particularly where? Sciences? or the other sections? If you still want to improve on the sciences, then i'd say take your time. If it's the other sections, well that stuff doesn't take too long to master so I would think a month is enough. Either way, best of luck! =)

The good news is that you'll never get pianoed again, so whatever passage you get, it should be search and destroy. You got CDM also so you should be fine there. I have a good feeling that you'll do much better. If you're persian: mesleh sagh bekhoon agha

It really depends on how much remember. But if I were you, I would take it in the winter because you will remember less when you try to take it in the summer. Take it while you have a fresher memory. Just dedicate all your time on studying for the DAT this break and once you get a nice solid score, you will feel that it was all worth it.
