How heavily do podiatry schools emphasize about taking a full load in a semester?
I am a sophomore kinesiology major at San Jose State and a possible worst case scenario for me in the spring is to have this schedule:

Human Physiology (5 units)
Organic Chemistry I (3 units)
Intro to Kinesiology (3 units)
Required PE kinesiology courses (1-2 units)

I could be looking at 12-13 semester units for the spring semester. Is that going to look bad in my podiatry school application in the future?

IMO, I do not think it will look bad, and isn't 12 credits considered a full course load? Physiology, Orgo, and Intro to Kin will be hard classes. I am a Kinesiology major too. I am currently taking 12 credits this semester as a senior, but they are the 400 level kin classes. Next semester I will be taking 14.

Thanks, and yes 12 units is considered a full load. When do you plan on applying to pod schools?

I think you are good as well.
Ochem and Physio should take up a lotta time.
I went to a quarter school, and I practically slaved when I had ochem and physio concurrently.

I don't think there is a con for taking less than any number of credits, as long as you are full time student, which is 12. If you are worried about being bored out of your mind, take up some easy humanities course, volunteer, do research, get a job of campus, you know the usual pre-med stuffs.

Try not to make a habit out of taking 12 credits. Even though you're class load is not easy, you're going to want to prove that you can handle a much tougher/fuller coarse load. I ended up doing best when I was taking 19 credits (not much time to slack off). Best of luck 🙂
