Hi. I’ve been working as a scribe for several months now, and the doctor I scribe for and have worked very closely with has written a rec letter on my behalf. I have a handful schools I would like to send it to (pre-II): is it looked down upon to have my recommender send it to the admissions committee directly (unsolicited) by email? Would it be better to upload this letter through AMCAS, or does it not matter either way? Looking for a bit of guidance.

Thanks in advance!

You must submit all letters through AMCAS. A school that receives a letter through other channels may choose to flag you for violating AMCAS rules, which won’t help your odds.

At this point in the game I would only use this letter in a subsequent cycle.
