Hi everyone; this is my second post =] the first being the generic "hello".

My dream is to get into UCLA, and they highly recommend a year of college Spanish (not counting the 4 years I did in high school, grr). I wanted to fit some Spanish in this year (junior year), but it will be very difficult to do so. I may have to push it back to senior year.

I know that you can put on your application what you intend to take senior year, but I am wondering how much medical schools care about that. For example, if I am on a similar level with another applicant but he/she already took Spanish (versus me who is planning to), will he/she have a significant advantage over me?

Thanks so much for your time.

Try to fit in the Spanish this year. Just put off any more GEs you might have. Or, if you have a hard science class that won't help much for the MCAT, definitely put that off until senior year. If you absolutely can't fit in Spanish, you could put your 4 yrs to use to tutoring beg. Spanish or doing something else where you use it.

Any other opinions, please?

I am already bumping all my general ed requirements to senior year.

It really doesn't matter all that much from what I've seen.
