Hey guys!
Do you think taking the MCAT in sep for this application will be too late?

Background: I re-took the MCAT June 20th, and did ok. It was an improvement from my previous score. I did extremely well in bio/biochem section. Sections I struggled with were chem/phys and CARS. This is my second year applying. I've already sent out a majority of my secondaries for DO schools. Do you guys think it's worth it or should I wait and see what happens this cycle?

Why would you want a 3rd attempt on the books? What would you be hoping to gain?

My re-take would be in hopes of getting 510 or higher. Currently sitting in the 500s range. My uGPA is not extremely high, but also not extremely low. Did some post-bacc work and have been able to maintain 4.0. I have lots of clinical experience. great LORS. Hoping to start research in the fall. I don't know what more I can do to get into medical school. So, I'm thinking retaking the mcat might be helpful.

If you didn’t get into the 510s on your last retake, what are you planning on doing differently to get there on this attempt?

I don’t think it’s too late. You need to make sure to let them know that you have another MCAT score coming up.

However, only retake if you ‘re sure that you can make a significant improvement. You don’t want to waste $300 just to receive a similar score!
