September too late for application?

I'm just starting my fourth year, and was unable to schedule my ophthalmology elective until August. Obviously, this is where I'll get my LOR from an OPH attending. Will I be at a disadvantage if I get my application in to the CAS by September 1? I know their target date is Sept. 5, but I'm concerned. Any advice on this?

I think if your application is completed by the end of the Sept., then you'll be fine. Most programs don't start interviews until Oct.
