If you check the box on AMCAS that says "unsure" whether or not you will be re-taking the MCAT, do they wait to send you an interview or not? Having already taken the MCAT last August with an OK score, do you think most schools will wait to interview me after August scores come out (even though i dont know how theyd be aware that im taking the August exam for sure since i checked the UNSURE box), or will they just go by the current score I have?

From your posting history, I see you're giving up your NYCOM acceptance to apply MD again. I think you're making a mistake. However, hopefully it works out for you.

Yes, after some long thinking, I decided to go the MD route rather than DO. The thing that bothers me most about the DO degree is that its no recognized overseas, and if i'd ever want to live in Europe for a few years, I'd basically be out of luck for a job. Im sure NYCOM is a great school, but its just not for me. Thanks a lot though.

If you are worried about practicing overseas, than you can still get your MD by doing this program.

http://www.uhsa.ag/pstudent/four/resdt/overview.htm

It is for DO students in their 4th year of DO school or 1st year of residency. Basically, your first 3 years of DO school credits transfer to this caribbean school, you take 12 months of online courses and at the end get your MD degree along with others in the normal 4 year pathway of UHSA. UHSA is in the caribbean but you will graduate a DO, MD. The tuition is about $20,000 for the year.

You can learn more from the FAQ section and the following link has a list of people that did the program and their comments. Most did it to practice out of the country and some are practicing in Iran and France.

I hope you take a look at it because this will save you a year of trouble in applying.

I appreciate your help, but im fine with my decision. No need to go to the caribbean and delve into online classes. Plus, im still relatively young anyways, 21, so whats another year? Ive decided to do the GTOWN SMP during my application year, this way ill be familiar with the material before i get to med school. So back to my original question. Anyone have any thoughts?
