We have one school that just dropped there in-state only acceptances to 50%.

At least in the north they get the ability to apply as in-state at Washington.

It seems like we get screwed. I've been looking at the MSAR and pretty much the schools that interview "heavily" OOS get 12K applications + and interview around 1k.

Where did you guys apply?

To private schools and oos friendly schools. Peruse thru the msar.

Drexel, Temple, Jefferson, GWU, USC (Southern Cal), Creighton (they have 3rd-4th years rotations in Phoenix), Loyola, Rush, RFU, Tulane, MCW, VCU, etc. You could apply OOS to TMDSAS, but don't hold your breath without at least some ties to the state.

UA (BOTH campuses) still pretty heavily favors IS applicants, you're just not "guaranteed" an interview anymore simply by being an AZ resident.

I don't see how Arizona applicants are worse off than those from California.

Agreed, or those from states that don't have medical schools such as Montana, Wyoming, Idaho and Alaska. (I think there is one or two on the east coast not sure though). As a Montana resident I get some preference at a handful of schools but I would favor my odds as an AZ resident vs. where I am now. And we only get a small number of seats set aside at UW, tis a bummer.

To repeat what others have said: OOS private schools is your answer! Slack3r already listed all of the schools I would have. Good Luck to you OP!
