Saw many threads about "Best Clinical Schools" and whatnot, but couldn't find one about schools that are very community service oriented. I'm the sort that will rely on this kind of thing and I'd like to see what's out there!

Thanks.

UMN is supposed to be pretty good in that respect. offers a lot of cummunity service and outreach progs acc to my research. So does pennsylvania.. u have to do a mandatory externship in an underserved community nationally or internationally..

The culture at Ohio state seemed very service-oriented during my interview day. They do tons of outreach to underserved communities, children, homeless outreach, etc. Most if the outreach was student driven, it was very impressive.

I'm definitely interested in a service orientated school. My GPA is on the low side though, do you think I have a chance with a 3.0, and 500+ Hours of community service to either Ohio or UMN? (Also completed 20 credits of my SMP with a 4.0, studying for DAT, aiming 20+ every section)
@ToothbrushBuddy and @ktran17 ?

I think you would have a good shot if you clearly state your service mission in several places in your application. Ohio's admissions office is very friendly, you should give them a call and explain your situation and interest. I know that they definitely look for service-minded applicants. Here is their contact info: http://dent.osu.edu/Contact_Us.php#admissions

I will definitely look into them. Thank you for the info!

I would love to go to ASDOH, but I'm hoping to stay somewhat northeast. I can't be too picky though, whatever happens, happens.

I think you have a chance, but it all depends on your DAT. UMN values well rounded applicants and particularly ones that contribute to cultural diversity.

Take the secondary seriously and you'll have a shot at the interview.

Let me know if you have any questions.
