SF Match NRMP and Transitional Year Apps?

If one is to apply to an early residency position do they have to fill out three applications????

1. SF Match - CAS - the 'dream' residency
2. NRMP - ERAS - Regular match - the 'back up' in case one doesn't get the early match position they want
3. Transitional year application? for PGY-1 spot if successful in SF Match

Is this correct? Or am I waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay off? Thanks for your input!
