Anyone make it down to SD for this? This place is a complete madhouse!

A few members of my lab (including my PI) are there. I've seen pictures, though, and it looks absolutely nuts. How many people make it out to that thing?

Perhaps you could resist the use of acronyms so that those not in the know would understand what you're talking about...

Supposedly 30,000 are here. I am checking out posters while chatting here, lol

Sfn is the society for neuroscience.

ive heard numbers closer to 40000

how i wish i were there

It was pretty awesome. My PI arranged a beach house for the whole lab, so I'm out here now after chilling in Gaslamp till just a few min ago. I'll be in the area till Wed, so if anyone is at the conference, hit me up via PM.

Listening to the Gingrich speech atm.

I am at the conference now as well and am very similar to you (staying at a condo beach house with 10 other people [grad students and phDs from my lab])... this is my first major conference and I feel very lucky to be here as an undergrad!

The place is pretty freaking crazy (never felt as overwhelmed as I have felt during those poster sessions) but its a blast at the same time (weather is beautiful, gas lamp is a fun area, beach is obviously amazing, etc.)

I highly recommend coming to this conference in the future for anyone doing neuroscience related research!

Yeah, the poster sessions are just out of control! It is pretty much impossible to see everything, so you need to pick and choose.

This seminar on brain modification looks amazing!
