I have a quick question, I am now shadowing two DO's. One DO, has been for a couple of weeks and actually agreed to write me a letter of recommendation. However I wanted to show more dedication so I started shadowing a second DO as well. I was wondering, does it matter that I am shadowing 2 DO's? Like does it look bad? Does it look good? Doesn't matter? Any thoughts?

Great! When it asks about shadowing DO hours, do I just combine both hours together?
What's the phrasing of the question? Most likely yes

Name activities that are not listed on your AACOMAS application.

Shadowing the two DO's are not on my application. I want to reference them separately but then just combine hours at the end.

A problem? More like an awesome job!

You are shadowing 2 DOs and this means greater exposure to different fields and an increased chance of landing a letter of rec. Can't think of a single con here.

A problem??? This adds major bonus points!

Yay great! One more question! One field of one application is state activities that are not on your AACOMAS application. I want to state both my hours with these two DO's. Should I also mention that one is going to write a letter of rec for me? 😳

The more shadowing the better. Goro told me that last year. I have been able to shadow 4 DO's and 1 MD and that has yielded 3 DO LOR's and 1 MD LOR. My only problem is to pick and chose which ones to send.

@Goro, correct me if I am wrong but I should send in all 3 DO letters I have because that looks good to adcoms and shows my committment to being a DO? (I am only applying to DO)

Or just send the 1 or 2 that I think are the best? Should I bother sending in the 1 MD that I know is strong?

To OP, basically more shadowing = more potential stories you can bring up during secondaries and interviews.

I've never seen an applicant with three DO LORs and I'll bet my DO colleagues will absolutely flip over you to get you accepted. So yes, send them all in! it's shows you've done your homework and went the extra mile.
