Shadowing an OD

I am applying for Fall 2006, and I still have to shadow an OD this summer. I was just wondering, for those of you who got accepted, for how long, and for how many hours, did you shadow/volunteer/work with the OD who wrote your ref. letter.

Also, where could I find info about passing rates for all of the OD schools. for the licensing exam.
