Shadowing on AMCAS-Using Doctors Names?

When describing shadowing experience on amcas (or secondaries i guess) do people usually use the names of the doctors they've shadowed? I feel like this is lame in a name-dropping sort of way, however some of the people Ive shadowed are influential figures and I dont want to not use their names if this is commonly done,
However Im apprehensive because I feel like that is kind of a lame thing to do...

I have gotten advice on this from someone affilated with an adcom. The only place where you should mention doctor's name w/o sounding like a "name dropper" is on the activities list. You have to descibe each activity in detail and include who, what, when, where and why. When writing the personal statement, you now assume that they have seen the names you mentioned in the activities list. Stating two and three more times in the statement would appear to be "name dropping" and distracting. If you use their names appropriately and in a factual way in the activities portion, that will suffice.

I don't see a reason why you cannot put the name of the physician you shadows unless he said not to put it. I shadowed a few chiefs of divisions and did research with the chairman of surgery at one of New York hospitals and put their names everywhere.
