Shadowing orthodontists

I've done about 200 hours of shadowing orthodontists (my brother and his team) in Australia. I was wondering if this would help me on the application. My brother offered to let me shadow his team just to get a feel for clinical work and patient care.

I don't know if med school ADCOMs would look down upon my shadowing someone who's not technically in medicine.

Its still considered health related EC but it won't be as big of a hit with the adcoms as lets say a medical mission of some sort or more medically oriented volunteer work.

It's fine to show evidence that you explored other healthcare-related fields, but be sure you give the same care to exploring medicine if that's what you intend to apply for. Also, be prepared to explain, perhaps in the Primary Statement, Why medicine and not dentistry? (hint: without saying anything negative about dentistry).
