Quick question about shadowing. Does it have to be through a "shadowing program"? My local hospital does have a program but I am interested in shadowing a doctor who has a private practice. I just wanted to make sure this is ok before I set up anything.

Shadowing can be through anything. I shadowed by simply asking doctors that knew my family members. I tried cold calling with far less success. A program would probably be the easiest way to shadow. My friend racked up about 50 hours from a single program!

I cold called places. It depends on your area but I'd say if you called at least 8-10 doctors you'd probably get a couple hits
