Hey guys,

I was wondering if it matters what country I shadow a doctor in. I was wondering because, I'm going to England soon, and I have the opportunity to shadow a doctor in a specialty I'm interested in.

Would this be equivalent to shadowing a doctor of the same specialty in US/Canada?

Thanks!

The purpose of "shadowing" is to show that you have an understanding of the day to day life of a physician in the US. International shadowing is interesting in a global context, but does not replace domestic experience.

They may not have fMRI in Rwanda, but they also don't have CPTs, DRGs, and pre-auths. So win some lose some. HAHAHAHA.

It probably should be okay as long as you have the domestic experience as well.
