Is shadowing considered an EC when applying to med. school?

I put it as an EC under medical volunteer (even though i got credit for it). I think it's ok there.

Thanks for the info... I'm going to be doing research with a cardiologist at a hospital this summer, and when I went in to see him today, he told me that he wants me to shadow him a couple of days each week. I'm not complaining. 😀

shadowing is really neat. it'll tell you real fast if you want to do that specialty or not. i followed a cardiac transplant surgeon and decided there was no way i could put in as many hours as he did. he put in over 40 hours/week in the Operating Room, and then that many again seeing patients and in meetings...and he's like 50ish. no way i could do that for the next 30 years. i definitly will put it on my info somewhere...dunno if EC is the place for it if its a short shadow tho. maybe for short shadows it could go under experience or somethin.
