Shot Down Fast Post Interview!

Had an interview a few days ago. Had rotated there and was told I had impressed them.

Just before the interview they told us we would be notified by mail in a few weeks if we were "likely" or "unlikely" to match. The interview went well. Was told so by multiple interviewers. Honestly no major awkward or red flag moments.

Less then 2 days later I get an email saying thanks for playing but you are "unlikely to match".

Must have sucked more than I thought....

That sucks. ACGME or AOA? Anything on your app that may explain this?

AOA. And as far as I know they have supposedly already come to terms with anything on your app by the time they interview you. My stats were nothing spectacular but not horrible either.

Kind of makes you feel like you're a freakin leper or something. Particularly when the interview seemed to go well. lots of back and forth, smiles, banter, laughs, encouragement and then...bam! I mean they sure did not think very long about it and makes me think that the interview was more of a courtesy since I had rotated there. Although I do know of someone who rotated there who did not get an interview.

they have supposedly already come to terms with anything on your app by the time they interview you.

I had always assumed this as well but I have heard stories recently which make me think otherwise.....
