Should I accept my only offer or is there time for others?

I am really happy I got accepted to my state school, but also want to consider any other options out there. (I am married and we thought it might be fun to move out of state, but aren't even sure we would do this given the financial differences of going to our state school vs out of state.) The problem is that I haven't even been invited to interview anywhere else that I really want to go at this time. My deadline to accept my state school offer is February 18th. Is there really any time for me to get an interview invite somewhere, meet with the committee, and then get an acceptance before this deadline or should I accept my state school offer?

Accept, accept, accept. There really is no other way around it. It's unlikely that you will get an interview, attend the interview and gain acceptance somewhere else in the next couple of weeks. Accept the offer and if something eventually works out somewhere else you can re-evaluate.

Accept the offer. Why pay more tuition and it isn't very likely that you'll get an interview invite and acceptance offer in the small window of time you have

Must be a retorical question. Of course you will accept and send in your deposit to your state school. You always could get another interview to someplace you like and then an acceptance, but it's better to be out a little bit of money than to sit around for another year trying to kick yourself in the head because you were too thick to accept the only offer you had. 😀

Ha - I definitely didn't word the question very well, but your responses were helpful anyway. Of course I will accept the offer if it is the only one I have. I more meant should I accept it NOW or do I have any kind of chance with the other schools and should wait a little longer. Thanks for the advice.

Right now I would accept a spot in Anarctica if they had a school. Accept!!!

Put down the deposit to hold your spot. You can still go to other interviews later, even if you have a spot in your state school. Don't lose your spot!!!!! Just putting the money down holds your spot, it does not commit you 100% to the school.

Send off the deposit on Feb 11th.

i would accept. heck, i already have accepted one offer, although i took another interview this week. a few hundred lost on a deposit is worth it if you save thousands in tuition later. although your state school will most likely be your cheapest route. i'd accept now.

congrats, btw.
