I'm a reapplicant, I applied in 2011 with the same GPA (cumulative 3.77 and science 3.87) but with a 24 (10, 7, 7) and a 28 (11, 8, 9). I have around 100 hours shadowing and 350 hospital volunteering and am currently working as an emt. I already submitted amcas (only to one school) which is already verified and lor are in. For aacomas it's in the process and lor are in.

Just took the my most recent mcat July 24 and got a 33 (14, 8, 11). Score is very uneven so I don't know if I should continue applying or wait till next year. Any advice is appreciated

Are you verified for this cycle? State?

I also have some undergraduate research, nothing spectacular. ECs are good with various other volunteering and jobs.

Where's your list?!
Sorry, my list:
MD School
Mayo
University of Illinois
Southern Illinois University
Loyola
Rush
Rosalind Franklin
New York medical college
Medical College of Wisconsin
University of Wisconsin
University of Iowa
University of Indiana
Albany medical college
Albert Einstein
Creighton
Drexel
Quinnipiac University
George Washington
Georgetown
Oregon state
Penn state
Saint Louis University
Thomas Jefferson University
Temple
Commonwealth Medical
University of Arizona
Western Michigan University

DO Schools:
CCOM Midwestern
Des Moines
Marian
Southern Nova
LECOM

You have 19 MD schools where you have a fair to good chance at an interview. That is more than enough, usually. Delete OHSU, though. If you want to keep Mayo, I understand. If you are from S IL keep SIU.

Thank you very much. Should I be removing OHSU because it's public?

Also would it have have a big difference if I had applied at the beginning of the cycle?

No, they have a strong regional preference.
Early is always better. You should still be ok, though.

Your list is already more than long enough! If one of these additional schools is particularly appealing to you, of course , go right ahead. Be sure that you don't lose quality on the secondary responses, though. I'm beginning to see this in applications already...

I'm assuming you're a ILL resident? If so, skip SIU unless you're from the southern part of the state.
I suggest:

Three MCAT's with a high score of 33 is a tad low for USC...

In my haste to post I forgot about that. OP needs to beware of schools that will avg MCAT scores. there are some that will take the most recent.

Well the scores are from summer of 2009 and summer of 2010, respectively, which is more than 4 years old. Schools won't consider them will they?

Of course they will. A recent score must be available to be considered in the application process. All scores are available in your evaluation forever (or from 1997, whichever comes first).

Oh wow I did not know that. So schools that avg all scores will take the average of all my scores right?

Yes. Actually, they will be viewed unpredictably due to the idiosyncratic ways in which multiple scores are interpreted. I would recommend shooting for schools with median MCAT's around 30, maybe 31.
