The school I’m trying to get to has the EDP program and I was determined to apply through this program thinking it gave applicants an advantage. After further research, I found out that it doesn’t. :/

So I wanted to ask if I should still apply? This is actually the only med school I can/ want to go to anyway, but my stats are probably average for this school (mcat 510, cgpa 3.77, sgpa 3.5, moderate EC). Should I just try since this is the only school I’m looking at anyway? Also, if I don’t get in through EDP, I can just apply the same cycle but as a regular applicant, right? When the semester starts I’ll have so much more on my plate because I’m starting research and teaching. Please let me know!

You are only going to apply to one school? Have you talked to anyone at the school about applying EDP? What did they say? Did they encourage you to proceed?

It is a poor strategy to apply to only one school with your stats. When are you planning to apply to other schools ? By the time you hear on a EDP decision it could be late in the season to apply to other schools.
