should I apply or should I wait for my LORs to be received by AMCAS?

hey guys

im just about to apply to AMCAS but my transcripts and LORs have not been received yet. should I wait for the status to be "received" or should I go ahead and apply for now?

Apply now! It's going to take time to get verified (letters aren't require for verification) and letters dont need to go out until you send out your secondaries (which you can't do till your varified).

I submitted a month ago and still haven't been verified and my letters haven't gone out yet ( committee letter that should be going out any day now)

so what are the deadlines beside each schools? they're just for submitting the application and not the LORs? like some schools have OCT15 deadline. what is this deadline for?

The deadlines AMCAS has listed are the dates you have to have submitted your application by. So yes, you must submit before oct 15th. The sooner the better.

You'll need to either look at the MSAR or the schools websites for secondary deadlines but I knew a few are Nov 1st. This is the date you have to have your LOR in by.

And to be clear, you must have added the name of that school to the AMCAS application before that date. Even though you have submitted for verification, you can't add more schools that are past the deadline later on. Even though you get verified after the deadline, those schools added in a timely manner will still consider you.

I thought that I need to send my LORs by that deadline and I started telling my referees that I'm desperate and I only have week to send my LORs. Guess what? two of them understood my situation and told me that they will send it ASAP. but the other one didnt give a crap and said well she will send it in week which is when the deadline was. Now I hate her but I need her.
