I plan on applying to DPT programs once the application opens at the end of the month, and I am having a lot of second thoughts regarding my stats, and I'm not sure if I will even be able to get in anywhere. I wanted to post here in hopes that someone could offer up any advice, because it would be greatly appreciated.

University of Florida - Nutritional Sciences
Current GPA: 3.27 - Received a C in Orgo II and a C+ in Physio 🙁
-I made the Dean's List Fall semester of my Junior year, though
GRE: V (149), Q (153), Writing (3.5)
Hours: A little over 80 - I have around 15 inpatient hours, but I will have 30+ by the time apps close and the rest of my hours are outpatient (ortho and sports)
Extra-Curric: 70+ hours of volunteer work with special needs children to help them become more active, powerlifting club (newly elected secretary), food science and human nutrition club member
Work: I have worked full time the last 3 summers (no classes during, though), and I worked my first 2 years of college as an intern for the State of Florida

The admission decision is different for every school, numbers are a big part but it is not everything.

One thing of importance is that many schools require a 150V, which means they may not review your app based on that requirement. Very important to check into this as you have time to correct the issue.

Most schools indicate a variety of hours as being important not necessarily quantity. You have time to address that issue.

You did not put your pre req gpa. Some schools love it, some schools don't show it the same love. Unless your extra circulars involve something amazing and different, I imagine every app is pretty much the same.

The bottom line is many of the top numbers people will get into schools but so will ones under the mean. The criterium changes with every school and has an element of unknown. Put your best app forward at realistic schools and see what happens.

Hey! I think you definitely have a chance! I would for sure retake Physio because that is a main prereq in every program and maybe OChem. I would also try applying early to schools that have rolling admissions. Try to get as many observation hours as you can and in different settings. Also, make sure you have references that will write strong recommendation letters for you. I'm planning on applying too, and I am also a little apprehensive. You definitely have a chance though! Good luck!

I think you have a pretty good chance. I had C's in A&P I+II and Chem II and still got in this past cycle. I had similar stats to you. I had a 3.34 overall GPA, 3.23 pre-req GPA, and scored a 147V, 152Q, 4.0AW (Highest Attempt) on my GRE. At the end of the day, it all depends on how you feel applying. I applied this past year just for the heck of it. Sometimes you just have to take a chance and try. If not, then there's always next year. It won't be the end of the world 🙂

Good luck! If you have any questions, feel free to PM me!

First off, good luck on your upcoming year! Thanks for telling me some of your info! I really appreciate it. If you don't mind me asking, where all did you apply/interview/get accepted to?

At least 1 school out there will give you a shot. You just have to believe that your application somehow sets you apart from the rest! Do your best! I submitted my applications in November (considered late) and one school saw something in me. Hope this helps! Good luck!

Congrats 🙂 and thanks for the help! I really appreciate it. Hopefully something will set me apart from other applicants. I plan on applying early-ish, I want all of my LOR's and things done by August, so maybe that will work in my favor!
