Hey everyone,

I've applied to six schools in the midwest and have been rejected by two. I haven't heard anything from the remaining four (MCW (small pooled in October), Minnesota-Twin Cities, Rush, Loyola). 29O, 3.82sGPA, 3.95cGPA. Do I still have a chance for interviews?

Thanks!

Yes, you should be worried. You only applied to six schools with a below average MCAT and slightly above average GPA? Yikes...

why would you apply to only six schools?😱

While you're not totally out of it yet, I'd certainly start arranging backup plans. It is very late in the game to receive an interview, and if you get one it will most likely be for a wait list.

I also agree with the others, next application cycle (if there is one) you should apply to more schools.

I don't understand why anyone would apply to only six schools and choose one of them to be Loyola...you do realize they have like 10,000 applicants a year right and their average MCAT is still a 31 (even though their avg GPA is low enough for you).

Yeah time to start thinking about next year...and next time hit up at least 15 schools.

Can't really speak for a lot of the other schools, but for MCW, I'm sure at this point, even if you do interview, it'll be for a waitlist spot. I'm not sure how much longer they're interviewing, but if you want to gauge a timeline, I was small-pooled in late August, got my interview invite early November and interviewed early January

Anyone who applies to only six schools should be worried.

my province (4+ million people) only has one medical school to apply to..hope that helps put things into some perspective, although you're probably too rattled to care right now! 🙂
