Hi.
I've finished my year at a community college.
I was originally planning on going to a pharmacy school, but now given that my parents agreed to help me out with school tuition, I thought this over...
I also have a greencard but will be getting a citizenship soon so residency is not a problem.
I have a vast interest in both pharmacology and medical field (specifically dermatology and neurology) but these two are very different paths.
My original plan was:
Finishing pharmacy pre-req. (3 years) and apply directly to pharmacy school
advantage:
1) Only 4 more years of additional school before getting a full-time job.
2) Less tuition
3) Will be taking PCAT next summer if everything goes smoothly
disadvantage:
1) If I fail to get into a pharmacy school, then I have to spend additional years at 4 year school.
2) Point of no return.
New plan:
Apply to 4-yr school next year (2 years) ->apply to medical school
What are your thoughts? suggestions?
Thanks.
