I'm just wondering if I should even bother applying this cycle?
My choices are limited because of my prereqs and hours.

Marshall University-BS in secondary education(graduated December 2012)
UG gpa 3.25
Pre-req: AP 1 &2- A's
Physics 1 B
Taking-chem 1 & ex phys in fall, chem 2&physics 2 in spring

152 V/150Q 4.5 W

2 years college football, 1 year college baseball
2 years coaching high school football &basketball
2 years high school basketball strength and conditioning coach
Worked multiple other jobs in order to make ends meet

Hours-because of the above I haven't had much of an opportunity to do many hours
I've done~20 in home health recently, did probably 60 in an outpatient and about 50 in sports med about 5 years ago. Not sure I could get them verified now. Planning on doing some this upcoming semester but still tough while working.

Without verified hours there really isn't a point in applying this cycle. Get as many hours as you can this next year and get your pre req GPA as high as possible for next cycle.

Have you looked at the school pre-req requirements? Most do not require Exercise Phys. Almost all require General Bio 1 and 2, Gen Chem 1 and 2, Gen Phys 1 and 2, A&P 1 and 2, General Psych, Abnormal Psych, Lifespan Development Psych, Stats, and maybe one or two more I am forgetting. Visit http://www.ptcas.org/DirectoryProgramsList/ and look at what the pre-req requirements are for your school. This page will also list how many pre-reqs you have to have completed at the time of the school's application deadline (Example: one school I applied to required that 7 out of 9 had to be finished).

Second, the hours thing is not that big of deal. You say you might not be able to get them verified. Well, find out. Call the places you shadowed at. If the PT you shadowed isnt there, then ask whoever is in charge if they will verify them for you. If not, shadow more and get more hours. Some schools have very low requirements on observation hours.
You have plenty of time before any deadlines to do 50 hours. Do some on weekends, your days off, whatever. If you want this to work, it will work.
