Should I freak out if school hasn't received my deposit

Hi everyone,
I sent my deposit out to a school on Tuesday via certified mail and they haven't acknowledged getting it yet. PLUS the post office says that they haven't had anyone sign for it(today being Saturday). Could I be in a bad position? I figured I sent it out on Tuesday and there was no way it would not get there in time but now I am freaking out because I am worried the school will be like well we didn't get it so your not coming here anymore.

I emailed the school, and left a message on the answering machine. You think thats enough?

It depends on the school. Some of my schools were really big on getting it in their hands by monday (even though it is a holiday). Most said that they would not accept certified or overnight mail and that I needed to send it via regular USPS to their PO Box, and allow 5 days for it to get there by monday.

So I would double check your acceptance letter and see what stipulations they made. I called my school everyday last week trying to make sure they received it.

I am not saying that they won't give you your seat if they get it on the 16th, I just can't know that. I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't in that spot to find out.

You should be worried about how stupid you are for leaving such an important task for the last minute.

I would say it would be a worse nightmare to have been accepted, not known about it (e.g. lost mail, etc.), and then miss the deadline for sending in your deposit and finally losing your spot in the entering class. No wonder applicants call in to the schools wanting to know their application status.

You could always call on Tuesday morning, ask if they got it, and if they hadn't then ask if you can pay via a credit card over the phone. I paid mine over the phone.

Yes it was. But we're talking about a dental school acceptance!!! Herasasil needs to be more careful!

Definitely freak out. That should solve everything.

Wow, I think that is the most important detail; actually getting the check to the school.
Some schools go by postmarks, others need them by the date mentioned in the letter and not later, some take credit cards the day of. It all depends on your school and how they want or wanted it.

If not, it is probably equivalent to driving 99 yards in the 4th quarter to win a football game and all you need to do is kick the extra point but you muff the snap. Or it can be compared to finally getting to get with one of us hot ladies, and blowing your load before you get your pants off. Now that would just suck for all of us!
