So I made a HUGE mistake waiting to get off the alternate list. Unfortunately it did not happen and I just started thinking about reapplying now.

Seeing it's so late in the cycle in submitting my application and retaking my DAT, should I just wait another year? It seems like you can't register for DAT in October and November (I tried, but only September dates are available)

Sci GPA 3.3
Overall GPA 3.5
I took the DAT once AA 17 PAT 16

Should I take the DAT in three weeks and submit application in mid-September?

Unless you have made significant improvements in your application, the chance of obtaining a different result on your application for this cycle are not particularly favorable. Take a year off, work on improving the entire package including your gpa and DAT.Consider yourself lucky to have been on an alternate list. Call the schools in question and ask them what you can do to improve your app.

If you think you can get ready for the DAT in three weeks, I would definitely go for it. Its still only September and although you may not be early, you are not late either. IMO, go for it. Also, your GPA is good.

even if u decide to take the DAT and apply next year, i think u should still apply this year if money is not a big issue...u never know!!

thank you everyone. money is definitely not an issue. schools that i solicited feedbacks from...some asked me just to retake the DAT and I will be okay. some asked me to take a few more classes to boost my science GPA. They told me that everything else looks good on the application (extracurricular, research, work experience)...so I am just looking to boost my DAT scores.

Anyone has other suggestions? 🙂

You do not need more suggestions. What you need to do is to implement the suggestions you received, especially those from the ds.

If you think you can do better in those three wakes take it, I have similar GPA and my DAT at the end of this month. However I did esubmit few weeks back and it went out today. I called up 7 schools and the each told me that my timing was fine (having everything at the schools by early October). Hell, if you apply for 10, you will have already lost 2 years, the waitlist year AND this one. If I were you I would apply. Never take what anyone really says on this site with a grain of salt and go for it.

i had two interviews. asdoh and mwu. i was on the alternate list for mwu but never got an acceptance call. 🙁 i think i'm going to go ahead and submit my app and take the exam in october...that will give me 2 months to prep. thank you everyone.
