I was wondering if I should sell my microbiology book or keep it. Will it help me in studying for the MCAT or be of any use as a reference tool while in med school?

Depends on the type of Micro book. My college text was general microbiology, and not very applicable to Medical Microbiology. I had one text during MS-1, which I thought was miserable, so just bought a lot better one. Anyway, its up to you.

If its tailored toward medial micro, I might keep it. If not, I might ditch it.

Brock Biology of Microorganisms, tenth edition
Thanks for the advice, I'm going to sell it...

won't be useful for MCAT and will most likely be out dated by the time you would use it in med school. besides, the book you get in for your med micro class will most likely be all you need anyway.

hey maya,

i'm using brock for a micro course i'm taking...i say sell it...the stuff is WAY too simplified...

my 2 cents...

best of luck

Thanks all! I have the same book and hopefully I can get a few bucks in the pocket for it. (Actually I should never have bought it in the first place! Darn professors)
