Should I put this "extracurricular" on my resume?

I have nearly 100k subscribers on YouTube and a decent following on Instagram. I am a fitness/healthy lifestyle "guru" and I've been doing this for two years. I'm not really sure if it's a good idea to mention this when it comes time for applications because this obviously isn't a serious career, but I do make a decent amount of money from this and do put time and energy into my content. Thoughts?

Why not include it? It sounds like you've helped a lot of people and contributed to healthy living in a way that will stand out from the crowd. You may even consider weaving this into the narrative of your PS.

I think you have nothing to lose and everything to gain by including this.

If there's no content you'd be embarrassed for your grandmother to view, and you didn't embrace fitness concepts that are extreme or not science-based, then go ahead and include it.

It's different, and therefore worth noting.

Just make sure you're not spouting a bunch of unscientific things -- many "health and fitness" sites publish a lot of information that has been discredited and/or is based on absolutely nothing.

Well the reason I wanted to ask is because I do have some bikini pics and some pics that emphasize my butt (in clothing!). I didn't know if these are too unprofessional lol
I don't spout any pseudoscience or scams.

Yes totally go for it it's very unique. May I ask how much do you make from youtube? I heard it's 1 cent per 1k views? How much do video advertisements give you?

I've been wondering the same thing as well! I don't apply until a few years from now but I have a lifestyle blog that I write. I intend to include it in my application as a hobby even though I do have collaborations and such.
I would say go for it! Do you have to include the website/link/YouTube channel's name though? I would like to hear some other SDNers and respected adcoms' opinions on this. Should the OP give a link to the channel and should I do the same for my blog when I apply?! (Of course it is different thing if you OP use your name as the channel's name etc.)

If you list it as a hobby, then validating the experience isn't as important. If you list it as Employment, Teaching, or Artistic Endeavor, then a link could be considered.

I know a youtuber that mentioned his youtube channel in his apps. Ended up talking about it during his interview at Yale.
