I took my DATs last year, and my scores are:
AA 20
TS 21 (bio 21, chem 21, ochem 20)
PAT 18
QR 16
RC 22

My GPA overall GPA is 3.59, total science is 3.52. I think my scores or okay, but my mother thinks they aren't good enough. I plan on applying next year, but do you think I should retake my DATs?

You'll be very competitive. Spend the next year becoming a more interesting applicant.

Why are you listening to your parents for DAT advice? Are they part of adcom at a DS? How would they know what a good score is?

Long story short, you do your own research. Ask around and see if you can get some trustworthy advice. Then make your own decisions.

they're okay as it is but if you're applying next year, i'd go ahead and take it again to get a really high score. you have plenty of time to study for it. i like to play it safe in order to give myself the highest chance of getting into a state school to potentially save $300,000.
luckily, the two easiest scores to dramatically increase are QR and PAT. For you QR, you need to drill yourself to solve as many problems as quick as possible. PAT is practically a game that you can play for practice and be guaranteed at least a 20 or above. use Crack PAT

i can easily see you become a 21/21/22 applicant which is awesome...but 20/21/18 is pretty good too

Hi everyone. So, I just took my DAT for the first time today and I'm not sure if I should wait to apply next cycle. These are my stats. Any advice or similar positive situations would be greatly appreciated! I am a Texas resident and I would like to know if I have a chance of getting into any of the Texas Schools.

Overall & Science GPA: 4.0, 150+ shadowing hours, three NSF REU research internships, two publications, studied abroad twice, several extracurricular activities, etc.

Bio: 20
GC: 17
OG: 18
RC: 21
QR: 15
PAT:18
TS:18
AA:18

Should I apply? I'm worried about my QR score and my GC score. Any advice??

If you don't listen to mommy you get pow-pow.

But if you don't listen to mommy your scores are good.

Your decision, young'n

Just took my DAT.
AA 18

PAT 21

I'm really considering retaking the DAT to be more competitive but will the 3 month waiting period hinder my application process? I'm afraid that the school won't review my application until the new score comes out. Any insight is much appreciated!

How are your upper division sciences (in hours)? You know TX is competitive. You have the GPA and ECs, but your DAT is well below average for matriculants. You should be able to get at least 2 in state interviews I would think.

I'm a little drunk and confused as to why your DAT is so mediocre. Just a bad test day?

Don't retake, those are solid stats. Very well rounded numbers, respectable GPAs and DAT

Idk know who's drunk, I mean correct.
