I just recently took the GRE and scored 154V and 148Q (have not received my writing scores yet). I know my quantitative score is below recommended but I am ok with my verbal score. I am torn between retaking the GRE and keeping my scores. Do PT programs consider the quantitative section as much as the verbal? What are the chances that I can get into a DPT program with these scores. I don't have enough money to take the GRE again for quite a bit of time and the application process just started.
My other stats consist of a cumulative GPA of 3.6 and 300+ experience from various settings

I was almost in the same boat as you. I think there are two real options: looks for schools that only want a combined score of 300 or retake the GRE. You're definitely an at/above average applicant, so I wouldn't worry too much (possibly make up for it in other areas).

I would consider retaking it to try to get over 150 in each section

But schools seem to care more about the verbal score than the quantitative score. As long as you meet the minimum requirements for schools you apply to you should be fine. You can find those requirements on their PTCAS page

I think a big consideration should be what schools you plan on applying to - the more competitive the school, the likeliness that their GRE requirements will be higher. And your AW score will also make a difference, so see what it is and then you can make a more informed choice!

Thanks for the replies! I was hoping to get at least a 4 on the AW. If I get below I think I will definitely retake the GRE. I am mostly applying to California schools such as: CSU Long Beach, CSU Northridge, CSU Sacramento, CSU Fresno, Samuel Merritt, Loma Linda. Also Thinking about UW and Pacific University.

It depends!

How high is your cumulative and pre requisite GPA in comparison to the schools average? What are the averages for the previous classes GRE scores and how do yours compare? Are yours over the minimum requirement that x school has? All things to consider.

For ex. The school I got accepted to and am attending now had average GRE scores in the mid 150s, and had a minimum requirement of 144s. I scored 149 on both, and was in the same boat as you and decided not to re take. Given that I have had a really high undergrad GPA and it was a few points over the average, but I was accepted early decision from this school. Just to give you some insight!

It looks good for you to take it again. Even if you don't get that 150Q, it'll look good you saw you could improve, and tried to do so! If you're okay with your writing scores, then when you take it again, SKIP THE WRITING section, and put all of your brain power towards the other sections. Good luck!

I'm in the same boat. I received a 149V and 144Q , 4.0 AW.
I have a 3.5 cum gpa and a 3.7 pre req GPA.
I know I can do much better on the GRE than my first attempt as I simply just did not show up on test day. My practice test scores all trended in the low to mid 150s. The thought of retaking the test stinks and I was wondering what other people's thoughts were.

Thank you
